PREREQUISITE

degree in physiotherapy, either a Bachelor’s degree or a Masters degree from a recognized university program

OBJECTIVES

  • You will improve your clinical reasoning with the help of several case histories and group discussions.
  • You will become more efficient in the planning of your objective evaluation using your findings from the subjective history and learn how to prioritize what is most important rather than trying to fit everything in the first visit!
  • Master how to perform a proper scan and to identify the practical implications for each of the elements included. You will enjoy acting out the different scenarios in terms of the most frequent pathologies and dysfunctions we see in clinic!
  • You will refine your analysis of vertebral movements and functional tests with the help of multiple clinical examples and video material.
  • You will carry out differential diagnoses with the help of several simple case scenarios.
  • You will identify the key elements of your evaluation in order to help you carry out an optimal treatment plan.
  • You will discuss your decision tree with respect to the management of neuro-MSK clients including discussion on appropriate imagery.
  • You will perfect your manual skills with the aid of lots of instructor feedback.
  • You will learn to appreciate how the therapeutic alliance is an essential tool in clinical practice.
  • You will learn and review many clinical prediction rules of MSK conditions frequently seen in clinic.
  • You will carry out a medical screening using a systems review which can mimic MSK pain including using an abdominal screening process as well as using case history discussion.
  • You will be able to enter the Level 2 courses with more tools in terms of both manual skills and clinical reasoning.
  • You will have a chance to exchange and socialize with one or more of our super instructors!
